Pierre Menard's parents' farm over 20 hectares of old Chenin and Sauvignon Blanc, which they sell to the local cooperative. Seeing the incredible potential of his parents' vineyards, some of them planted as early as 1920, Pierre started to farm a small parcel himself, following biodynamic principles. Pierre made his first wines in 2013. Already, this inaugural vintage received great critical acclaim.
Pierre Menard's flagship Cuvee. Only 2 barrels of this wine were made from Chenin Blanc vines in the Clos de Mailles vineyard that sit on a vein of blueschist with quartz. A powerful intense and highly aromatic wine that quivers with tension despite its depth and serious body. Biodynamically farmed with natural farming principles. Harvested by hand, soft pneumatic pressing, fermented, and matured in 1 barrel of 6 wines and a small stoneware jar.
