Born in 1960, in Valle d'Aosta, in Brusson, a small town of a thousand inhabitants, at the foot of Monte Rosa. Growing up with the backdrop of the Alpine mountains, he was soon fascinated by the Piedmont hills. In fact, the maternal family, originally from the Monferrato Asti area, ran a property in which the vineyards and the cellar played a decisive role. Every year at the end of school, Federico moved in with his grandmother and transformed himself from a student to a farmer, helping his uncles both in raising cattle and in managing the vineyards up to the harvest. In 2015 he left Tenuta di Fessina and produced the first labels bearing his own name as a winemaker. Ananke Nero d'Avola, Gamma Carricante and Il Purgatorio Nerello Mascalese. A few bottles of oil are added to this production.
